Burger King Scholarship Foundation Program: The Burger King Scholars program, also known as the Burger King McLamore Foundation Scholarship, is a scholarship program established by the Burger King Corporation in honor of its co-founder, James W. McLamore.
The program aims to support Burger King employees, their spouses, domestic partners, and children in pursuing their educational goals.

The Foundation, together with Burger King Corporation employees, franchisees, suppliers and guests, has been able to make a positive impact in the communities in which we work and live. Today the Foundation administers the BURGER KING℠ Scholars program and the BK℠ Family Fund.
The BURGER KING℠ Scholars program assists employees, employees’ spouses or domestic partners, employees’ children and high school seniors in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada in continuing their education. To date, the program has awarded more than $56 million in scholarships to more than 49,000 students. Last year alone, $3.4 million in scholarships were awarded to nearly 3,200 deserving students.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin.
Eligibility into Burger King Scholarship Program
The scholarship is open to Burger King employees, their spouses, domestic partners, and children who meet the program’s eligibility criteria. Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates planning to enroll in accredited post-secondary institutions, such as colleges, universities, or vocational/technical schools.
Selection Criteria
The Burger King Scholars program is competitive, and selection is based on various factors, including academic achievements, work experience, community involvement, leadership potential, and financial need. Applicants are typically required to submit transcripts, letters of recommendation, and essays as part of the application process.
Note: Some Burger King Scholarships are renewable for multiple years, provided the recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress and meet any other renewal criteria specified by the scholarship program.
Burger King Scholarship Award Amount
The scholarship awards vary in amount and may cover a portion of the recipient’s tuition, fees, and other educational expenses. The exact award amounts and the number of scholarships awarded each year depend on the availability of funds and the number of qualified applicants.
Scholarships range from $1,000 to $60,000 and are intended to offset the cost of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Recipients are selected through an application process that takes into consideration their grade point average (GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities, financial need and community service. In 2024 alone, the Foundation awarded over $4.5 million in scholarships to nearly 4,200 students. Scholarship status updates were shared on Monday, April 20, 2024.
How To Apply For Burger King Scholar Program

The application period for the 2024-2025 will open from October 15, 2024 to December 15, 2024. Scholarship recipients will be notified April 2025.
