Federal Government Scholarship (FSB) Award; The Federal Government Scholarship Board (FSB) is an agency under the Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria that oversees various scholarship schemes funded by the Nigerian government.
The FSB is responsible for the administration, selection, and awarding of scholarships to Nigerian students for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, both within Nigeria and abroad.
The Federal Government Scholarship Award has been announced by the Federal Ministry of Education, Nigeria as a fully-funded scholarship for Nigerian undergraduate and postgraduate students.
FSB Scholarship Programs
Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarships: These scholarships are awarded to Nigerian students for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in countries that have bilateral agreements with Nigeria, such as China, Russia, Cuba, Turkey, and several others.
Commonwealth Scholarships: Nigeria participates in the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP), which offers scholarships for Nigerian students to study in other Commonwealth countries, primarily for postgraduate studies.
Nigeria Awards Scholarships: These scholarships are provided to Nigerian students for undergraduate and postgraduate studies within Nigeria. They cover various fields of study and are awarded based on merit and other criteria.
Nomination of Candidates for Other Scholarship Awards: The FSB also nominates Nigerian candidates for various scholarship programs offered by international organizations, governments of other countries, and private institutions.

Federal Government Scholarship Details
The Honourable Minister of Education (HME), Prof. Maman Tahir, hereby invites interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2023/2024 Nomination Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Federal Government Scholarship Award.
The Federal Scholarship Board ensures that deserving Nigerian Scholars are awarded with foreign and local scholarships.
It is also saddled with the responsibility of fulfilling commitments to Multilateral Education Agreement, Education Bursary Award, and Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA).
Federal Government Scholarship Requirements
To be considered for the Federal Government Scholarship Award, you must:
- must be a registered Full-Time student of Federal or State Universities.
- possess a minimum of first degree with Second Class Honours Division (Postgraduate students).
- must be registered full-time students in their second year or above in Federal or State Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education
- must have at least 4.0 Cumulative Grade Points Aggregate (CGPA) on a five (5) point scale or its equivalents or 5.0 on a 7-point scale (UG, HND & NCE).
- must have a CGPA of 3.5 and above on a scale of 4.0 (NCE/HND Applicants)
- Not hold the scholarship at the same time with another Award nor for part-time studies.
- Not change course or institution while enjoying the award.
Federal Government Scholarship Duration and Reward
- The scholarship is tenable in Nigeria and takes effect from the beginning of the academic session.

Under-Graduate Scholars: N250,000 per annum, Post-Graduate Scholars: N300,000 per annum, HND: N150, 000 per annum and NCE: N150, 000 per annum.
