A. QUALIFICATIONS:

a. Professor (CONUASS 7):
A Ph.D. from a recognized University or a recognized appropriate professional (medical) qualification with at least twelve (12) years teaching experience at the University level or cognate exposure. Twenty (20) Publications of which sixteen (16) in print out of which four (4) must be in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals. For Engineering and Applied Sciences, twenty-four (24) publications, twenty (20) in print and not less than six (6) in three (3) different, reputable and regularly published foreign index journals. The other four (4) may be technical reports or patents.

b. Associate Professor (CONUASS 6):
A Ph.D. from a recognized University with at least nine (9) years of teaching at the University level or cognate exposure with demonstrable evidence of scholarly achievement. Fifteen (15) publications, eleven (11) in print, four (4) of which must be in not less than two (2) different referred reputable and regularly published foreign index journals. For Engineering and Applied Sciences, eighteen (18) publications, fourteen (14) in print and four (4) in two reputable and regularly published journals. The other four may be technical reports or patents.

c. Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5):
A Ph.D. from a recognized University plus ten (10) Publications; ten (10) of which must be referred journal articles in print. For Engineering, eight (8) publications, six (6) of which must be refereed journal articles in the print plus COREN registration, the other two (2) articles may be refereed proceedings or teaching reports.

d. Lecturer I (CONUASS 4):
A Ph.D. from a recognized University plus four (4) journal publications two (2) of which must have been published or Ph.D plus professional registration plus three (3) published journal articles. A Master’s Degree plus five (5) journal articles four (4) of which must have been published.

e. Lecturer II (CONUASS 3):
A Ph.D. from a recognized University. Or Master’s degree plus two (2) journal publications. Plus the relevant professional registration as an added advantage.

f. Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 2):
A good second class honours degree (not less than 2nd class lower) plus a Master’s degree or A Bachelor’s degree (first or second class upper) plus a professional registration.

g. Graduate Assistant (CONUASS 1):
A good honours degree (first or second class upper) from any recognized University.

h. Academic Librarian:
To be an Academic Librarian, applicants must have obtained a good Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or its equivalent from any recognized University and must be a registered Librarian with relevant professional registration

i. Technologist:
Candidates must possess a good B.Sc./HND from a recognized institution in relevant. Professional Registration is an added advantage.

NON-ACADEMIC POSITIONS

a. Guidance and Counselling Officer:
A good honours degree in relevant field from a recognized University.

b. Assistant Librarian:
Candidate must possess a good honours degree/HND in Library Science from a recognized Institution.

c. Senior Assistant Registrar:
A good honours degree from a recognized University plus at least nine (9) years post qualification cognate experience and membership of a recognised professional body. Or a postgraduate degree in relevant field is an added advantage.

d. Assistant Registrar:
A good honours degree from a recognized University, plus at least six (6) years post-qualification cognate experience plus membership of a recognized professional body. Or a Master’s degree plus at least six (6) years cognate experience.

e. Administrative Officer I:
A good honours degree from a recognized University plus at least three (3) years post qualification cognate experience or master’s degree with at least three (3) years post qualification and relevance experience.

f. Administrative Officer II:
A good honours degree in relevant field from a recognized University.

g. Accountant I:
A good B.Sc. degree or HND in Accountancy plus membership of a recognized Professional Accountancy body (ACA, ICAN, ANAN, ACMA).

h. Accountant II:
A good B.Sc. Degree in Accountancy or relevant discipline.

i. Academic Planning Officer:
A good Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline A good Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.

j. Procurement Officer:
A University degree or HND in any relevant field from a recognized institution.

k. Store Officer:
A University degree or HND in any relevant field from a recognized institution.

l. Quantity Surveyor:
Candidate must possess a good degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized University.

m. Senior Driver:
Candidate must possess Trade Test, 1, 2 and 3 and must have 8 years driving experience.

n. Pharmacist:
A B. Pharm, B.Sc. (Pharm) with full registration with the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria.

o. Nursing Officer:
Candidate must possess N.R.N or N.RM. plus one (1) year post registration.

p. Medical Laboratory Technologist:
A first degree in Medical Lab Science from a recognized institution.

q. Assistant Medical Laboratory Technologist:
Candidate must have an ND or certification in relevant discipline.

r. Executive Officer:
HND or ND in the relevant field from a recognised institution.

s. Clerical Officer:
Candidate must have full Secondary School Education with 5 credits or its equivalent one of which must be in English Language.

t. Building Officer:
Candidate must possess a good university degree in Urban and Regional Planning and Environmental Management.

u. Town Planner:
Candidate must possess a good honours degree in Civil Engineering, Building, or any other qualification registerable with Council for the Registration of Builders in Nigeria (CORBON).

v. Hostel Staff:
A University degree/HND/ND/NCE/SSCE in any relevant course from a recognized institution

w. Chief Security Officer:
Candidate must have served as a Superintendent of police or equivalent ranks in the Armed Forces with eighteen (18) years’ experience with a good educational qualification.

B. GENERAL REQUIREMENT

  1. All candidates must possess NYSC
    Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate where applicable.
  2. Candidates who are awaiting results
    need not apply.
  3. Computer literacy is required for all
    advertised positions.

C. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Salaries, allowances and other conditions of service attached to the various positions are the same with the approved salary structure for Federal Universities in Nigeria.

Requirements into the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) Recruitment

  • Advanced competency in written and oral English with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently in a professional work environment.
  • Interested applicants must be physically and mentally fit
  • Interested applicants must be of good behavior and composure
  • All candidates must have a valid means of identification such as a valid driver license, National Identification Card, International passport, Voters card, or NIN number
  • A minimum of five (5) credits including English and Mathematics in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE)
  • Interested candidates should not be more than 40 years at the time of application.

Candidate’s submission should be forwarded in sealed envelope which should have the position applied for clearly indicated on its left-hand corner.
