The management of the Gujarat Secondary Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has released the notification for the GSSSB Fireman-cum-Driver Recruitment 2024. The recruitment drive aims to fill 117 vacancies within the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department and the offices under the Director, State Disaster Response Force, Gandhinagar, and Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examination from a recognized board. Additionally, they should possess a Fireman training certificate from an institution recognized by the State or Central Government. Candidates with a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license will be preferred.

Age Limit

As of 31 August 2024, the minimum age requirement for applicants is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 33 years. However, age relaxations are applicable as per government norms for reserved categories.

Registration Fee Details

• For General Category Candidates: 500/-
• For Reserved Category Candidates: 400/-

Note: The application fee will be paid online through the OJAS Gujarat portal. Candidates who appear for the examination will have their fees refunded.

• Last Date to Apply Online: 31 August 2024
• Last Date to Pay Application Fee: 05 September 2024

Selection Process

The selection process for the GSSSB Fireman-cum-Driver recruitment will include the following stages:

1. Written Examination: A competitive exam comprising multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on subjects including general knowledge, data interpretation, and relevant technical knowledge.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates must complete various physical tasks such as running, climbing a rope, and other endurance-based activities within the stipulated time.
3. Document Verification: Candidates who pass the written exam and PET must submit original documents for verification.
