The Ministry of Communications, Department of Posts, under the Government of India, invites application to apply for job in the GDS. The Online Engagement is to fill 44,228 vacancies in local post offices across various state-wise India Postal Circles.
Eligible Indian citizens who have completed at least the 10th standard (Matriculation) and are proficient in a local language can apply for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) positions.
Applications are to be submitted through the official India Post GDS Online Portal, available at indiapostgdsonline.cept.gov.in or indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria For India Post GDS Online 2024
- A Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English, conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India, State Governments, or Union Territories in India.
- The applicant should have studied the local language at least up to the 10th standard from a recognized board.
- Additional Qualifications: Knowledge of computers, ability to ride a bicycle, and adequate means of livelihood.

India Post GDS Online Selection Process
- The India Post GDS Online Engagement 2024 selection purely on the basis of a Computer System Generated Merit List.
- The Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained/ conversion of Grades/ Points to marks in 10th Class (Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate).
- No weightage will be given for higher educational qualification.
How to Apply India Post GDS Apply Online 2024?
Eligible Indian Citizens apply online for Indian Post GDS 2024 online registration at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. The GDS Registration on the following steps:-
Stage 1: Registration – Candidates should fill in their basic details, including mobile number (OTP validation required), email ID (OTP validation required), address, father’s/mother’s name, date of birth, gender, community, and secondary school (10th class) pass year/marks, and circle details. After registration, candidates will receive a unique registration number.
Stage 2: Apply Online – Visit the Indiapostgdsonline.gov.in/ref_validation.aspx page, enter your registration number, and choose your postal circle (state). Then, choose your GDS vacancy post office preference and print the submitted application.
Stage 3: Fee Payment – The final step is to pay the application fee of ₹100/-, which applies to all posts notified in the choice of division. This fee is exempted for all female applicants, SC/ST applicants, PwD applicants, and transwomen applicants. The fee should be paid through online payment mode using credit/debit cards, net banking, or UPI.
