Rhodes Global Scholarships in UK; The Rhodes Global Scholarship is a prestigious international scholarship program established at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. It is an expansion of the renowned Rhodes Scholarship, which was originally established in 1902 and has since provided opportunities for outstanding students from around the world to study at Oxford.
The Rhodes Global Scholarship is specifically aimed at supporting exceptional students from countries outside the traditional Rhodes constituencies (such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and various Commonwealth countries). It seeks to attract talented individuals with a strong commitment to making a positive impact in the world and who demonstrate leadership potential, academic excellence, and a dedication to service.
Similar to the original Rhodes Scholarship, recipients of the Rhodes Global Scholarship receive full funding to pursue a graduate degree at the University of Oxford. This includes coverage of tuition fees, a stipend for living expenses, and additional allowances for travel and other expenses.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions/Duration
A Rhodes Scholarship covers all University and College fees, a living stipend (£19,092 per annum 2023-24); settling in allowance, health insurance, visa, two economy class flights – to and from the UK – for the beginning and end of studies in Oxford.
The basic tenure of the scholarship is two years, subject always, and at all times, to satisfactory academic performance and personal conduct.
Scholarship Eligibility
a. Nationality/citizenship: You may only apply to the Global Scholarships if you are not eligible to apply via any existing Rhodes constituency. If you have a strong connection to one or more Rhodes constituency but do not meet their eligibility criteria you should also consider inter-jurisdictional consideration rather than the Global Scholarship
b. Age:
You must meet either of the below criteria:
i. You must be aged 18-23 on 1st October 2024 (i.e. you must have been born after 1 October 2000 and before 2 October 2006).
OR (for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual)
ii. You must be under the age of 27 on 1st October 2024 (i.e. have been born after 1 October 1997) AND you must also have completed your first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2023.
c. Academic achievement: You must have already completed, or will have completed by July 2025, an undergraduate degree (normally a Bachelor’s degree) with an academic background and grade that – at a minimum – meets or exceeds the specific entry requirements of your chosen full-time course at the University of Oxford.
Given the very intense international competition for places at the University of Oxford, candidates will have a greater chance of successful admission to Oxford if they have a First Class Honours Degree or equivalent or a GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher.
d. English language: You must have a sufficiently high standard of English to meet the English language proficiency requirements (at the Higher Level listed) of the University of Oxford.
How To Apply For Rhodes Global Scholarships in UK
Applications will open on 1 June 2024.
You should apply for the Rhodes Scholarship before applying for your proposed course at the University of Oxford. Candidates selected for the Rhodes Scholarship are then required to apply for their chosen course via the University of Oxford’s graduate application form with support from the team at Rhodes House. There is no application fee for submission of the Rhodes Scholarship application form; however you must submit your application online and we can’t accept any other form of application.
